Jason and I want to have a 3-D or possibly a 4-D ultrasound video done of little baby in my belly. You can really see so much detail of the baby. It’s the next generation of medical ultrasound. According to this particular website: http://www.fetalfotosusa.com/ the best images can be see at around 24 weeks. I’m 15 weeks now so just a few more weeks to wait. I can do it as early as 16 weeks but I think we will wait til around 20 weeks. Check out some of the images on the website they are really neat.

Jason was talking to a coworker who recently defected from the UK to America. He was mentioning that Kristin having her Dutch citizenship would allow her to attend University in the EU.
This might turn out to not be such a great benefit, and we will certainly continue to save for college but if she decides to go to the Netherlands or Amsterdam for college she certainly could. She could even go to Spain or Italy if she wanted.
Holland Universities do offer many course in english and in 2002 they converted to the Bachelors/Masters system. This makes it an easier transition for someone from the US to attend University there.
I can only think what a treasure it would be to go to Holland and attend University. Jason and I could purchase a house or some sort of flat for her to live in while she is there and have realestate in another country! It just sounds rather neat. I guess we have about 14 years to go.

The ultrasound was awesome. Everything is going well now for baby and me. The baby is at least twice as big as the last ultrasound done 2.5 weeks ago. His heart rate was 150 BPM. He was moving his arms all over the place. Jason and I are very relieved and now we feel we can relax and quit worrying. My next appointment is with the OB in 4 weeks. Thanks to Erin and our families for their prayers and support.

Well yesterday was my 1st appointment with my new doctor. I was given the good news that everything looks fine with the baby. I am now 11.5 weeks. I was told to have an ulta sound done today just to reassure me that the baby is fine. The last ultra sound was done on 3/21 and we not only saw the baby’s heartbeat we also heard it. His heart was beating at 160 BPM. So I’m hoping for the best this afternoon.

We need to get our US Passports as part of the finalization process for receiving our Dutch citizenship. Here is the website for information on the US Passport:
http://seniortravel.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=seniortravel&zu=http%3A%2F%2Ftravel.state.gov
If you need a passport right away, within two weeks, you must go directly to a federal office which is listed on the website in certain cities only. Otherwise if you have time you can usually find some local post office near by to help you.

Wednesday March 30th.
My family and I met with Mr. van der Zee of the Consulate of the Netherlands to regain our Dutch Nationality. His office is here in Scottsdale, AZ. Through him we were able to file documents and sign some forms which will enable us to have our Dutch Citizenship as well as obtain a Dutch passport.
My father is Dutch and came to the United States when he was 20. His parents, my grandparents, brought their 7 children over to the U.S. by ship through New York Harbor back in 1965. My father never became a U.S. citizen. When he passed away in 1994 he still held his Dutch passport and his “green card.” My husband wrote a little more about his backround in his blog:

Anyway, I wanted to continue my Dutch heritage and now I am able to pass it along to my daughter and the new baby when he/she arrives in October. I still have to get some documents like my birth certificate authenticated with the state department of California where I was born and raised. My daughter was born here in Arizona so I have to get her birth record authenticated through the state here. Once the certificates have been authenticated with the apostile from the California Secratary of State then I must send them into the Consulate General of the Netherlands for final approval.
